The Phoenix Beginners Course is designed especially for beginners, with Aims and Objectives in place to ensure everyone receives the tuition they need. Each class includes warm up, exercises, drilling moves, dancing and cool down with relaxation. It is the perfect ‘follow up’ to the Absolute Beginners Workshop but new dancers can begin with the course if they wish. It will also suit ladies who have danced before but need to ‘brush up’ on their basics.
Each lesson is of one hour and 30 minutes duration and is visually assessed throughout. Students assess their own progress at week 5. The first 7 lessons are prescheduled but the final 5 are designed specifically to target the areas the students want to go over. Visual and aural aids and handouts accompany the course, giving each student a complete ‘starter pack’ to which they can refer.
Rather than joining an established ‘beginners’ class at the outset, this course ensures new students are furnished with the basic techniques and moves essential to good bellydance. By completing the course, ladies will have learnt the skills to dance in any beginners class.
A basic level of fitness is required for this course.
From January, Phoenix is offering the Beginners Course on two different days:
* Wednesday 7th Jan - Wed 1st April, 9.45am-11.15am,
* Thursday 8th Jan - Thursday 2nd April, 7.30pm-9.00pm
The course is to be held at Christ Church, Perry Street, Billericay CM12 0NX.
